As I am a big Christmas fan,  I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review The Christmas Chronicles: The Legend  of Santa Claus by Tim Slover. This cute little book details the story of how the existence of Santa Claus came about. The story, purely magical reminding us the importance on how a little  bit of hope, faith and love can ease some hardships in life.

The Christmas Cronicles starts in 1343, when Santa (real name Klaus) was orphaned when his parents died as a result of the Black Death. He is later adopted by a craftsmen’s guild.  Klaus in turn, grows up to be a master in wood-carving, carpentry thus, a master in toy making. Klaus then began to make toys for the children in the village as a way to spread  kindness and hope due to the tribulations of the Black Death.

Soon after, neighboring villages heard of the toy-making, toy-giving Klaus and the children’s list grew.  Klaus then begins to feel overwhelmed fearing he cannot deliver these toys to all the children but, as fate has it, Klaus then meets Anna, who later is known as Mrs. Klaus.

As the story continues, you get to meet all known Christmas icons such as Dasher, Rudolph (Ranulf) and the elves. You also get to know Klaus nemesis, Rolf Eckhof who envies Klaus and stops at nothing in trying to destroy him. In the end, the true spirit of Christmas is unleashed when a battle between good and evil takes place  with love and faith overcoming all.

I love this book! Tim Slover has revived the spirit of Christmas in whole new way making his book a must read. You can purchase the Christmas Chronicles at Amazon for the sale price of $8.64.
