Recall-Goya’s Frozen Mamey Pulp
For all of us that may use Goya Products in the kitchen-here is a recall announced on August 13th by the U.S. Food & drug administration.
Frozen Mamey Pulp, produced by Coco, S.A. under the Goya label is being recalled as a precationary measure for risk of Salmonella. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious health problems, sometimes fatal infections among children, frail and elderly people. People infected with Salmonella will often expereince fever, diarrhea, bloody stools, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. This organism can also get into the bloodstream, producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections or aneurysms. This product comes in a 14 ounce plastic package, with the UPC# of 041331090803.
